Empowerment Of Communities Through Psycosocial Support In Brebes

Through guidance and compassion, nurses and health cadres work hand in hand to build healthier futures.
My name is Faith Chepkoech , a nursing student in Poltekkes Kemenkes Semarang. I participated in a health cadre activity in Brebes, where we provided psychosocial support in collaboration with other campuses. The implementation went very well—we interacted closely with members of the community, worked effectively as a team, and successfully fulfilled our mission.
During the activity, we focused on building trust and understanding within the community. We listened to their experiences, offered emotional support, and encouraged open communication, which helped create a safe and supportive environment for everyone involved.

This experience strengthened my skills in communication, teamwork, and cultural sensitivity. Working alongside health cadres and fellow students allowed me to understand the importance of collaboration in delivering effective community-based care.
I also gained a deeper appreciation for the role of health cadres in promoting health at the grassroots level. Their dedication and close connection with the community make our interventions more meaningful and impactful.
Overall, the activity was valuable and fulfilling experience for me as a nursing student. It reinforced my passion for community health nursing and inspired me to continue contributing to improving the well-being of society.
